We all know when we’re in a slump — but do we really understand what it is?
We know we want out of it. We know it drags down our productivity and weighs heavily on our emotional wellbeing.
But the first step to solving any problem is awareness: knowing what’s actually happening and how it’s affecting our daily life.
There are two main types of slumps:
The Short-Term Slump
A temporary dip in motivation, energy, or focus that usually lasts a few days or weeks. These slumps often respond to quick solutions like rest, a day off, a change of scenery, or reconnecting to something exciting.
The Long-Term Slump
A persistent lack of progress, motivation, or satisfaction that stretches over months. It doesn’t lift easily, and over time, you may notice yourself caring less and less about the goals you once wanted — feeling disconnected, disheartened, or stuck.
This guide will help you to recognise where you are and show you how and where to go from there!
